Ah the empire will do whatever the empire will do
Yep, was counting on Obama pulling a Clinton and covering up for the crimes of the Bush administration in this war, just like Clinton covered Iran Contra.

It is now official. The only reason to vote for Democrats it that at least they are a little better, notice, not much better, just a little better than their counterparts for my wallet. If any of you expected change we can believe in... well only if you follow blindly you might get illusion of it.

It won't happen. I expect even worst outrages at the empire demands it. And until the empire goes away... nothing will change.

No, not disillusioned, as illusions are for children. But a hard realist that knew this day was coming the day I cast my ballot. It is the Empire and the logic of it, and it is a powerful narcotic. So as a good imperial subject I shall continue to play my role, and see how many of my fellow subjects defend this because he is OUR GUY.

Yep, knew it was coming.

Though to keep the masses distracted I shall see the increase in baubles in the bread and circus that is the teeeveee and mass media... and of course they will give us some left overs in the illusion they intend to pass for health care reform. Yep, the day has come when working for any change means working against DC... all of it, not just a party, but all of it.

As they say, the few strands that perhaps some were better than others is gone... and what we see is the stark reality of empire and the needs of that empire.

To my fellow subjects, realize that you are next.

1. Wrong analysis. Completely wrong.
The cat is completely out of the bag; the only thing missing is ANOTHER set of pictures.

4. So, all those declassified memos mean nothing simply because you don't get to see photos?
Please.

8. The Clinton admiistration did the same thing, early on they
released even threatened... then a clamp down. The photos are just part of a predicted pattern

To be one of the elites. Then I could still say with a straight face that the Democratic Party represents me!

3. It certainly might make a difference..
if people cared. Why should anything change, when nothing has to? There is more resistance than there is insistence. They win every time because they can't help but win.

6. It is a rigged game, empires play a rigged game
why do you think we have all the bread and circuses for?

You think the lesson of Rome was lost on Imperial builders?

They are just different from Empire to Empire... for us it is Anna Nicole Smith or whoever is the missing blond of the week... for the Roman Imperial Citizen it was the circus. For the Spaniard and the British it was all about the glory of God, for one the holy church, which mandated the empire, and for the British, kind and country... but the logic is the same.

Keep them distracted.

12. If nothing changes, nothing changes..
why should this government do anything different, when it doesn't have to? Can you imagine if 1% of the American people sent an email to their representative? Who knows what could happen..it's never been done.

19. You're not even making an "argument"
You're just bloviating. Your arrogance in writing off Obama while attempting to pose as someone with superior knowledge and insight looks ridiculous when you can't even write a decent sentence in English. But thanks, you did at least make me laugh out loud at the absurdly over-the-top tone.

20. Ah I see, the partisan amongst us
it is fine since it is OUR GUY doing this!!!!

Where have I read this before? Racks mind... oh yes, Free Republic about even a year ago, and the AOL boards, from the RIGHT WINGERS c. 2002-3. You should never question the President in time of war, or something to that effect.

And didn't DU'ers call their counterparts to the carpet for this, because they were putting their party ahead of their country?

YEP... that they did. Now I see many on DU using the exact same arguments.

Mr Serling, ready for my closeup... cue twilight zone music...

Now since you elected a leader, not a representative, and are unwilling to do the work of the citizen, which includes calling your elected representatives to the carpet when they make a mistake, and they do regularly... continue on. Those who elect leaders are not supposed to question them, just to cheer them on.

Good job subject!

23. And what is your point? That I should put party before country?
Sorry...

not willing to go there and join you in that pursuit. When our REPRESENTATIVES do what is right, they shall be applauded, when they make mistakes, or pursue empire, they will be called on it.

This is that little thing called CITIZENSHIP... you might give it a whirl, or perhaps not. It is lots of work after all.

I knew this was coming but also, hoping and praying that I was wrong. I was NOT.

SAME AS IT EVER WAS ...
