Adolf Hitler and G. W. Bush. Same crime, war of aggression.
I watched the Sunday Fixed Noise show trial of Dems for Torture--the Republican "push back" on the news of Bush Torture.

Well, time to push back in kind, I say, and up the ante a tee-shirt!

I need some tee-shirt ideas for this theme.

Got any thoughts? Graphics? Etc.?

2. I HATE HITLER/NAZI COMPARISONS
all of them. Chavez=Hitler, Sharon=Hitler, Bush=Hitler, Obama=Hitler, ad nauseum.

Truly nothing really compares to Nazi Germany and I wish people would stop it with that worn out cliche'.

4. The comparison is starting a war of aggression basd on lies. Exactly the same thing!!
Edited on Mon May-11-09 07:18 PM by L. Coyote
One war may have killed more people than the other, but starting a war of aggression is a crime Hitler was accused of and guilty of.
Likewise Bush launched a war of aggression, and they both deployed propaganda and lies to do so.

The comparison is valid whether you like it on not!

5. Starting a war based on lies...
Edited on Mon May-11-09 07:30 PM by BigBluenoser
...isn't exactly what made Hitler infamous in the eyes of history.

9. Is precisely how Hitler invaded Poland.
And, they reasoned it would not matter because they would be the victors!!

Bush made that mistake too, to delineate yet another parallel, fascist thinking = Third Reich & Permanent Conservative Majority!

10. bush got support from dozens of countries
in attacking Iraq via the UN. In addition, Iraq had already been effectively branded by the international community as a "rogue nation". I don't think any of that mitigates the fact that attacking Iraq was built on lies, but don't think for a minute that many people will never accept the bush=hitler equation. As I said before, this is a sure loser way to gain support for prosecution. Now if you want to lose support, spread it far and wide.

7. As did Lyndo Baines Johnson.
A war of aggression based on lies. It included war crimes, torture, and caused the deaths of a whole hell of a lot more Americans and Vietnamese than Bush's little excursion into Iraq.

24. All well and good.
but the man giving the orders to the American Armed forces to attack Vietnam, was Lyndon Baines Johnson. Not Hitlers bankers. He is the war criminal,
the butcher. He should have been tried and imprisoned as a war criminal instead of being lauded as the great liberal. He is no better than Bush, and if you look at the numbers killed, murdered, mutilated, injured over the term of his Presidency, Bush is a minor leaguer in comparison.

23. Very weak comparison
Then all wars are just like wwii because somebody lied and employed propaganda? Hitlers global war of annihilation, genocide, world conquest, and white supremacy is JUST like Iraq. r r i i g g h h t t.

14. Know your history.
Certainly, these turds aren't wearing SS uniforms, but their evil hearts are in the same place.

Know your BFEE: Nazis couldnt win WWII, so they backed Bushes.

Know your BFEE: Like a NAZI

We need to know history in order to understand the present and set course to a better tomorrow.

18. Point taken, but the OP isn't a Bush=Hitler equation.
It's a comparison of the Gleiwitz incident with 9/11.
Both events were used to falsely justify an attack on a nation that had done nothing to provoke an attack.

6. the bush=Hitler line is NOT helpful. It doesn't get anyone on the side
of prosecutions, and turns people off. it's one of dumber things we could do.

If their theory is that Bush did nothing wrong, then why is it wrong if Pelosi knew about it.

(By the way Bob Graham backs up what Pelosi said -- they weren't breifed on torture:

Hitler was much more intelligent.

21. There have been lots of wars of aggression. Hitler's worst crime was organized genocide.
And as much as I hate Bush, he didn't do that.
