The Big Cheaters
Haven't I written this one already?
After the 8 years of Bush Inc., certainly
it's in my archives.

But forgodsake, is our national motto "Whatever, it takes",
or "Fuck It"?? Is this a generational thing or a gene thing?
Are some of us more concerned with truth and justice
and others, not so much? I'd love to know.

Why do the cheaters profit or get away with shit?

Manny R, with a salable dreadlocks look, winning ways
and a huge monetary contract, gets kicked out, all the
time knowing, he's been taking illegal drugs, flaunting
the fact even?

Maybe all the baseball teams paying cheaters
should lose big time now and
the gangs of LA give Manny the illegal justice
he deserves over the sports columnist's outrage.
Certainly it would be just desserts for the
owners. Why people still buy the overpriced tickets
and food is beyond me. Do we have an American
game untouched by scandal and drugs left?

And Obama, you will be the footnote in history,
under "first cafe latte colored president", if you
don't practice real justice. I don't know if
Holder is courageous enough to have a footnote
of his own, to overrule your promise to not
look back and actually prosecute the crimes
of Bush Inc. Is this Congress courageous enough
or willing to sacrifice their jobs for actually
doing the right thing? Are they too protected
by party and district boundaries to do what
we've thought as the American way?

What will it take to really get some justice?
Certainly enough people, fired or out of work,
have time to actually protest inside D.C.
or next to Bush's new home in Dallas or in getting
rid of the party protected.

I have lost so much faith in all this stuff.
Maybe saying "whatever or fuck it" is the future.
I hope we still have people in power who are
willing to risk it all for our future.

BTW, I just post this to add to my journal,
so don't feel like you have to respond.
