Rush's greatest fear: Pandora
I do believe that out in the midwest (eg,Nebraska) where Limbaugh gives his show away to maintain a monopoly on airtime, people are forced to listen to the fart like spewage emanating from the little speakers, because in many cases, there is just no other choice.

Now, with an IPhone, wherever you have a (att) cell phone service, you can get Pandora. As more phones with internet features come to market, the cheaper they will be. The more people that are given a choice not to listen to Rush, the smaller his voice becomes. Until one day he is nothing more than a bothersome mouse squeak.

So, this "End of Year" Holiday Season, give a Nebraska Republican the gift of life ... give him or her and IPhone with Pandora loaded.
:sarcasm:

5. You can do it from any device with an internet connection.
Open up another browser, go to http://www.pandora.com/, type in your favorite song or artist, and kick back.

(Make sure your speakers are on, tee-hee!)

21. One thing that's very off-putting about Pandora
and one reason why I guess I'll never touch it is you can't see what it is they offer or what makes it so whizbang-gee-golly-great without signing up.

I don't give my email address and personal information to ANYBODY for just nothin'. I purely despise marketing and collection of personal information up-front. This is why I don't use social networking, either. They want all your personal info up-front "just to try for free", then they pelt you with email and ads ("someone is looking at your profile, but we won't tell you who unless you bust loose some cash"). Bullshit.

No thanks. I'll pass.

30. I found it... the ittybitty link at the bottom takes you to mobile
where I could DL the cab for my Q9C. They still want too damn much info, but, bygolly I've got Bach in my ear.

The install is easy enough and I'm pleased that they bothered to make a cab for pocket-PC-based phones. I write apps for PPC's so that directed my choice of phone. All-too often Windoze-based phones are left out. So I give them points-up for it. (I noticed that Stitcher doesn't support PPC-based phones -- so Pandora wins.)

23. Well then let your mind be at ease...
...I've never received an email from Pandora except for once. They finally had to put a few ads on their site (extremely non-intrusive ads) and they were letting people know why.

9. I would pay big money for that
especially if you could form a "cone of rushbo silence" around yourself. I may even consider a home equity line to cover the fees.

12. I thought he was more afraid of her box
But yes, radio in the heartland is pretty limited. Pandora will be a help to get some perspective to a huge chunk of the nation that does not have much exposure to opposing viewpoints. It will help.

phones being announced in June, so I'd wait. There have been rumors about a cheaper phone, and, of course, new models.

Here's more info about the existing models:

http://www.apple.com/iphone/

I have four screens of apps — and I find uses for many of them every day!

Edited to add: I have 3 radio apps on my phone right now, Pandora, Wunderradio and AOL Radio. I can listen to Stephanie Miller now, even though she's not played anywhere in NYC. Also have tv.com app, where I can watch full TV episodes and Hulu for iPhone is coming soon.

20. Pandora rocks...
I just drove from Colorado to California, through most of Utah you can only get one radio station and it was always right wing talk. It's like that all over the midwest, I've done the Colorado to Florida trip too and it's the same one radio station with right wing talk throughout the midwest.

27. Slacker radio is another app for iPhones and Blackberries.
It has a lot of stations, or you can search by band. I use both Pandora and Slacker often. Don't listen to regular radio nearly as much now.
