Anti-Feminist Lawyer Loses Women's Studies Suit
http://www.feministing.com/archives/015155.html

Remember the anti-feminist lawyer who was suing Columbia for offering Women's Studies courses because, according to him, it's discriminatory towards men? His case (not surprisingly) was thrown out last week by a Manhattan judge.

This is not the only case Roy Den Hollander has pursued; he's also filed lawsuits against clubs that offer Ladies Nights (because of course that's feminism's doing?), and is pretty blatant in the acknowledgment that his sole purpose in life is working against the evil feminist machine, saying:

"What I'm trying to do now in my later years is fight everybody who violates my rights... the Feminazis have infiltrated institutions, and there's been a transfer of rights from guys to girls."
Holy eloquence. Is this dude really a lawyer? Also not surprisingly, when the judge dismissed his suit, Hollander "assailed the judge as a feminist" and claimed that "hen it comes to men's rights, judges act with an arrogance of power, ignorance of the law, and fear of the feminists."

11. Their little (really not-so-little) persecution complexes are always so disproportionate
to the actual situation. Seems to border on paranoia, really...

5. Dumbass
"transfer of rights from guys to girls" Jesus.

I will note that in my workplace, a male nurse did complain about a "ladies night" get together posted somewhere. He claimed hostile work enviorment, I think it was, maybe it was milder than that. It was before I worked at this particular facility, but used as a cautionary tale in general orientation. The young man, a gender minority, felt left out evidently. He won his case.

That's a very different situation of course than some bars' "ladies night" which is equivlent to "booty call" to me. Makes my feminist soul shudder.

The strange brew in this court case is dangerously silly, and very, very creepy.

7. Offering ladies a discount on drinks and admission is discrimatory
It is obvious that people are being discriminated against through pricing. I don't chalk this up to femnism and I don't really care about this discrimination. I think that it is intrusive of the government to tell someone how to run their business as with smoking laws, but lets be honest about it. It is a form of discrimination.

9. Well, since we're still getting paid that 59 cents to your dollar
perhaps it's a way of evening things up a bit so we can afford to go out for drinks once a week. Well, not really.

Bars know filling up with women is a sure way to lure desperate men in.

That's why they do it, you know. They don't give a shit about us. They just want enough tail around to lure you guys in.

14. Businesses like bars do this to get single women to come thru the doors without dates
... It not only brings in revenue they wouldn't otherwise have (i.e. women who don't like going into bars alone, but who will do it because they know other women will be there for Ladies' Night) but is attractive to single men because they think they have a better chance of meeting women.

Complain to business owners if you want, but you are likely to get a blank look. Nobody in the government told them to do this; it's a purely capitalist sales device, and like other forms of advertising they wouldn't do it if it didn't work.

15. Yeah sure. "Ladies nights" are feminist.
 And offering girls free booze so they get drunk quicker and guys can get laid easier sure is some pretty heave anti-male discrimination.
