in its irresponsibility. Making our children and grandchildren pay later for our spending now? How is that laudable or acceptable to everyday Americans?

Is there a better sound bite than "Spend On Credit" Party?

To counter the usual "Tax and Spend" the GOP and Media use for the Democrats.

At least Clinton had our country on the road to fiscal solvency.

1. It would be WONDERFUL if the Democratic Party USED this premise
in 2008.

Especially to the younger crowd - the one's who are continually being told that SS won't be there because of all the babyboomers NOW, etc., etc.

DEBT is NOT a good thing. It's certainly NOT the way to run a country.

2. I wondering if there's a better label. The "Spend Us Into Debt" Party?

3. So true. There is a woman I work with who is "against debt" but
votes Republican. What's up with that? She says she is a Republican and has always been, supports * and Cheenee too. Go figure? Defies logic!

5. Borrow & Splurge party
Edited on Sun Apr-01-07 03:50 PM by SoCalDem
They are like the profligate who cashes the paycheck and hits the Party store instead of paying the mortgage or electric bill.

The bills are still due, but the money to pay them has long-ago been splurged on fancy parties for pals

GOP= Greedy Ole Profligates (gonna have to look that one up, Freeps!)

on edit.. for the freeps who probably are using that dictionary to make the desk in Mom's basement, level..

Definitions of profligate:

* noun: a recklessly extravagant consumer
* noun: a dissolute man in fashionable society
* adjective: recklessly wasteful
* adjective: unrestrained by convention or morality
