I don't care what excuse, jetlag etc. he'd come up with, he's not useful to Obama if this is his level of commitment.

Summers resigned as Harvard's president in the wake of controversy over a talk in which he speculated that women may statistically have lesser aptitude for work in the highest levels of math and science.

How do losers such as this continue at such high level positions?

9. We don't know what's going on with him; might be medication, might be illness.


Still, the fact remains that it looks for all the world like a wealthy and powerful official's pretension and/or disinterest in matters which will profoundly impact "the little people." People have a right to be angry about that. He should at least have sent someone in his place who would have been able to pay attention and ably represent his position. He will suffer professionally for not making that choice.

I hope Barack takes him aside and gives him what-for.
