If a husband cheats on his wife (or the converse)
Edited on Thu Apr-23-09 07:26 PM by SoCalDem
or a person molests just ONE child

or a guy holds up only ONE bank

or a person embezzles only a few thousand from an employer?

or just one undocumented person gets a good job in the US?

or a person commits just ONE hit and run

or a kid , in an angry huff, shoots just ONE friend

or a Mom "forgets" to feed her kid for a week or so

or a person gets busted with crack cocaine just ONE time

should we investigate the crime/infraction?

and demand explanations?

should these people expect to walk away and "move on"? start over fresh? be trusted again? "get past it"?

This is the logic that progressives need to take with conservatives when they start in on the mantra of not "going there" on the torture issue.

Will some dems get caught in the drift-net? probably..but that's a GOOD thing.. we don;t NEED people like that..

The negligence of Iran Contra hearing-followup (lack of it) is what brought us Bush1 and Bush 2..

are we willing to have republicans thrust upon us again in the future?..especially since they are hunkered down, waiting for this thing to blow over, and they will re-emerge later.. they never "go away".. they must be SENT AWAY, humiliated... and even then, they return to do battle another day..

a simple investigation that goes nowhere just will not do.

1. I don't think analogies are needed. It's torture.

5. The DEMS are so giddy about just being in charge....
... they fail to realize the gravity of the situation.

Also, there's an atavistic fear of backlash... kind of like that experienced by the DEM Iraqi War Resolution enablers ( which includes MOST of the Obama administration... though not Obama himself.) during the run-up to that catastrophe.
