Taking a break from calling Barack Obama every racial slur for a mixed person he can think of, Rush Limbaugh took some time out today to trivialize the sacrifice of American servicewomen, calling them "babes" who were "rounded up and sent to the foxholes" as though women are incapable of making their own decisions, and perhaps in Rush's world, they aren't. In a telling moment, Rush claims that women wouldn't make it in pro football because "the average human being wouldn't last two plays." This telling statement reveals all that is needed: In Limbaughland, human beings are exclusively male. From todays show:

RUSH: The liberals did indeed bandy about, bang on the drums for women in combat. Now anyone with, it just isn’t right. Whether they can do it or not, that’s not what a cultured civilized society does to its women, they just don’t do it. Except in dire, dire circumstances, but yet they did. But yet we’ve not, they have in college, women should be allowed to place kick in college football, but they haven’t said a thing about women playing pro football, now why is that because they know it would be impossible. They know the average human being wouldn’t last more than two plays, the average woman wouldn’t even, it would be, they don’t even suggest it yet they do for the military? So what does it tell you they of the military? Its nothing but a little social playground for experimentation, by the way since they’re liberals they’d love to weaken it and love to tear it apart and cause all kinds of controversy and strife, and they do it under the guise of women’s rights, I’m sure there are some imminently qualified women in the military I am not talking about their ability to do, I am talking about the institution and what it says about a cultured civilized society that it will round up babes send them off to basic training and send them off to the foxholes. It can be done, but its not recommended.

He is saying these things to mask the FACT that he is a chickenhawk republicon paid shill, who chickened out of military service by claiming that pimples on his ass made him eligible for a medical deferment. That's a fact.

So he tries to "compensate" for his cowardly deficiencies by putting other people down.

The republicons, of course, love this, for so many of them are in the same sad category.

However, that's totally irrevelant to military service and can't be made into a truthful statement nor comparison about women in the military.

1. Who are these liberals banging on the drums for women in combat? The only banging groups are women officers who want the combat restriction removed because it's a glass ceiling and the Five Sided Circus which is aware that a volunteer military can't function without including a lot of women. As it is an armed force some will be in combat.

2. Cultured civilized societies treat all of its members well; however, in the one I live in sometime during my life I stand a one in four chance of being physically/sexually abused by a male SO and a one in three chance of being raped. So let's stop the hand wringing about our daughters in harm's way; they already are, uniform or no. At least in combat they can shoot back.

3. The analogy between pro football and military service, even combat, is false. First, what is meant by combat job. It just isn't infantry; it's tank driving, missile launch, fighter aircraft, subs, artillery, etc. All these jobs require great stamina and good health, but not a refrigerator physique. In fact, such a build would restrict a man from fighter jock duty. A female physique would be preferred. Further, just what is combat? Is it a civil riot, a nuclear exchange and where on this spectrum do you draw the line and say no girls beyond this point? Finally, what's the point? Few people can play pro football; that much was stated. Millions have honorably and successfully served in the US military, among them three million women.

4. As for the military being a social playground for experimentation, well yes it ofter is. Pick up the clue phone -- this country is a social experiment. One of its narrative lines has been the ongoing inclusion of groups into the mainstream. The military reflects this inclusion.

5. Finally, 18 years olds aren't babies and members of the armed forces definitely are not. Servicewomen aren't being rounded up. Each and every of us volunteered. None of us hid behind an ass pimple.
