Funny that a Navy SEALs sniper shot those three pirates.
Considering that piracy seems to be a part of the Navy SEAL's heraldry.

2. He thinks there's some significance
behind the fact that the SEAL in the picture has a skull-and-crossbones patch on his arm.

In other words, ignore him. :eyes:

8. Yeahbutchyasee ....... that's not a skull and crossbones patch.
I'm not sure its a skull at all. I'm *certain* those are crossed sabers, not crossbones.

But ..... he's free to carry on.

But who gives a fuck about that Navy SEALs rock.

Not official. Anyways, the US Navy was invented to combat piracy.

9. Yawn. Another misinformed post on DU.
Since the decline of piracy, various military units have used the Jolly Roger, usually in skull-and-crossbones design, as a unit identification insignia or a victory flag to ascribe to themselves the proverbial ferocity and toughness of pirates. It has also unofficially been used to signify Electric Hazard and Poisons. The background is blood red and the Skull and Bones are black in colour.

16. *Yawn* Get your facts straight there Bucko. *stretch*
That happens to be a real pirate flag. The skull and crossed cutlasses happens to be the flag of Calico Jack Rackham, pirate. It doesn't denote anything at all that you listed.

While the skull and bones is the most famous, there are many Jolly Roger designs.

20. Not a skull/crossbones. Not an official unit patch.
And the Navy was founded to stop piracy.

Just a bad metaphor all round.
