1. We can't do this, because, except for a few of us, the

United States is populated with wasteful idiots who like air pollution, and deny that it has any effect on the environment.

We keep saying it is ... but it's not.

3. What it comes down to is that in this country

those who drive large, less fuel efficient vehicles are far more likely to vote. Okay, I know that owners of hybrid cars and various small fuel-efficient cars (I drive a Honda Civic myself) also vote, but somehow the SUV owners seem to speak more loudly.
