6. Good for Eugene!
I just finished History: "The Hemingses of Monticello: An American Family" by Annette Gordon-Reed. Although I was amazed at the amount of material she covered, I felt she wrote it lacking in historical perspective. I frequently thought she attributed today's perceptions to people who lived over 200 years ago. I wonder if anyone else had a similar thought after reading this lengthy, well researched book.
