1. Screw that - is there war brewing in the Democratic Party?
I think there are too many DLC insiders who are trying to turn Obama against the Democratic grassroots. If that happens, there will be hell to pay.

7. Us Dems are always at war. That's how good ideas come to the top. We
are not dictatorial like the GOP. Ideas are batted around, we fight over them constantly.

In the GOP they are told what to do and they do it. Any discord in the GOP ranks is dealt with severely. Ask Lowell Weicker. They don't bend, they break.

21. They don't need our help at ripping themselves apart. If anything if it
appears we are goading them they may find that as a unifying issue. We need to keep up the grass roots efforts, build upon the networks we have built. Most of all, let's not get lazy.

2. Hard to say if it'll get that far, BUT
They are not a party known for their affinity for pacifism.

9. Kind of wrong here:
We entered into WWI after a ship carrying American passengers was torpedoed by a German submarine.
We enterred WWII after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
We entered the war in Korea because the NKA/Chinese invaded the ROK and US troops were already stationed there. Our help was requested by the President of the ROK.
JFK got the US involved in Vietnam as advisors - a big mistake - LBJ lied about the firing on USN ships to expand the war to include ground troops.
Bush attacked/invaded Iraq because he felt like it, and Afghanistan because that's where he thought the Terrorists were, I suppose.

That whole thing about FDR getting into war on purpose is GOP bullshit.
Read a little more history than what you find on FOX NEWS.

10. Sorry bud but you need to get your history straight - try books
WWI - The ship sunk was British with 128 US passengers on board, Germany was warned to stop. Using the Zimmerman telegram showing Germany asking Mexico to attack the US as an excuse, Wilson called for war on Germany which Congress did 4/6/1917.

WWII - Roosevelt had been shipping weapons and supplies to Britain through Canada. This is well documented. Japan did start the Pacific war but did so because the USA was orchestrating an oil blockade. Germany had not attacked the US yet until they goaded into declaring war.

Korea - the US forces were ordered into combat by Truman to give the S.Koreans support after the N.Koreans invaded. There were no US troops in combat until then.

11. The war within the Republican party started last summer.
It is one of the reasons they lost the election.
They are now in final stage.

16. The theocrats really feel like they've been treated poorly. The neocons
failed miserably, the cloth coats only exist in the north east, and some rogue elements are talking about showing compassion for those different than them.

22. The RNC has been very good at shaking down the business community.
Maybe business has gotten tired of giving and getting all the wrong things in return. The Theocrats have been used and abused by the RNC. They aren't entirely blameless. They got greedy. They saw money and power in their association with the RNC. Because of that all of the religious community has been hurt.

"No one knows what war is like other than my family, period".

Goldwater Conservatism is dead and the Religious Right and Big Government Conservatives killed it.

32. Dare I Say I Predicted This Over A Year Ago?
...well I guess I just did. :spank:

It's been obvious for a long time that the "big tent" that converged to help the rushpublican take the House & Senate in the 90's and enable booooshie to steal the White House has long shreaded into radical factions. There are the fundies, the neo-cons, the gun nuts and so on...and other than hate and fear, they have nothing else to cling to.

The fact at the recent CPAC hatefest no one candidate drew more than the low 20's says how divided and unfocused even the extremes are.

The longer this party remains in denail...lives in its parallel universe and refuses to accept reality, they're will continue to minimalize itself...they've gone off the abyss. They can defy gravity for as long as they wish, but they're gonna crash sooner rather than later.
