I just returned from the land of stupid. Usually I do photojournalism from a non-partisan perspective but today I couldn't pass up wearing my Obama hat and button. I have never seen so many hateful stares from a "non-partisan" crowd. Three or four of them actually walked up and stuck a small point and shoot camera in my face, flash and all, and fired off a few shots. Flash at noon in Pullman? I need to rethink my photography skills. I'm pretty sure they did it just to prove a point.
Another thing I noticed was the number of "disabled" tea-baggers. If I had been wearing the journalism hat I may have asked about their injuries, hoping that they had adequate health care with no need for any social services, you know, the ones taxes pay for. Ninety percent of the tea-baggers were well past retirement age, all of them white. I'm positive all of them have turned down their social security income, derived from taxes.
A number of children showed up at noon which had to be good. It kept the evils of evolution from being pushed upon them in school, their young minds free from global warming. They had the chance to see democracy in action, yes democracy, well democracy based on lies, paraded forth by the Hi-Def image of their God, Glenn Beck.
All the signs seemed to be spelled correctly, Pullman/Moscow are college towns so we demand proper spelling and grammar, such as this fine example from their own website:
"Also one last point. They have in place a provision where the Pres. can over ride stsate gov's and take control of there nat gaurds. The stimulas package has provisions that if a State Govenor says no the the stumulas offered his state, the feds will allow that states leg. to OVER RIDE him and take it. What about the oath of office her? What about the ELIGAL order of Pres. Rosivelt to collect americans gold and silver in 1933. What about the "oath of office" then?"http://palouse912project.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40Please, don't run that quote through a spell or grammar checker, the level of computing power needed to process it hasn't been developed yet.
At this point in my post I would be posting my photos. I will have to do that later since I had to rush from the Tea Bag extravaganza straight to my Constitutional Law class. I promise photos, in all the glory imaginable, later this afternoon.
