Savannah Tea Party report
there were easilly two hundred or more people (all white) standing around, some with signs that were VERY ANTIGOVERNMENT. There were the predictable "socialism in unAmerican" and "dont tread on me" signs. They were simulcasting the elrushbo show with a local rw talker blabbing during the commercial breaks. They were getting revved up and chanting.

These crazies made me very nervous.

6. the place was crazy with police, so unfortunately nope
I had taken firecrackers and other toys, but decided to keep on moving when I came upon the clusterfuck. It was supposed to run between noon and 1p and I drove by at 12:05. I was surprised by the turnout

9. Nice pics. Don't know why a small group of senior citizens frightens you. And think it's pretty lame
that you brought firecrackers? Glad you couldn't use them, as doing so would have been immature, stupid and potentially dangerous in a crowd (albeit a small and pathetic one.)

2. Any guns?
I feel pretty certain that some in that crowd wouldn't show up without a weapon.

3. I know the feeling - these people own guns
Edited on Wed Apr-15-09 12:26 PM by LynneSin
They own guns and probably have little experience in responsible gun ownership but they own because god forbid Obama goes door-to-door taking away everyone's guns.

I have no problem with gun ownership but I have a serious problem with many gun owners out there. The only gun law I would make for those wanting to own a gun is some sort of training in responsible gun ownership. I can't drive a car without learning how to properly drive it, why should I own a gun if I have no idea how to use it.

Personally I do not have a gun - I'm concerned that a gun in my house may one day be used against me.

7. Don't get too nervous
Look how OLD they all are!

This is the dying gasp of a conservatism that outlived its usefulness many years ago, if it ever had any.

If they had some youth there, I might be a little more nervous.

Nothing kills a movement like being identified with establishment old farts.

I just wish the shots had shown a few signs. I've been waiting all day for the unintentional humor.

10. The Klan just doesn't pack 'em in like they used to
Some of the ladies there look like they match up to the WWII era German ideal for breeding though, with all that blonde hair (unless that's the Miss Clarol talking).

11. Great pictures, thank you.
I visit there from time to time and that is quite a lot of people for that area, though I'm sure it's because it can serve as a central location for the coast as well as parts of rural Georgia and South Carolina.
