1. There is no ship "The Maersk". It's a company that owns 450 container ships
...and 1,900,000 shipping containers.

2. It is the way it is written up that causes the confusion
They say the Maersk Alabama when they should say the Alabama,a Maersk class ship....

4. No, I think Richardo has got it right
Maersk is one of the largest shipping companies in the world; these cases are about the company, not the ship (only one mentions the Alabama), nor the class of ships 'Maersk-A' that someone found - named after the company.

3. Please correct your title line. It's just wrong.
Maersk is a corporation with many ships. The Alabama is but one of those ships.

5. Corrected - thanks.
I still note the employee abuse claims and the cases for pension rights.

7. To answer your question, you should do the same search for other container lines
OOCL, Hapag-Lloyd, COSCO (China's line), Atalntic Container Line, etc

Then compare their litigation to Maersk. Then separate loss and damage issues from personal injury, personnel and asbestos issues.
