1. If the story is accurate, the headline should have read 'rescued', not 'released'

7. I'd suggest "escaped and rescued."
Clearly, he opportunistically jumped overboard (again) as the SEAL rescue operation commenced. It seems the general acclaim for his character and courage are well-founded.

2. Before we place kudos to Obama...what are the details of the rescue?
Did the Rescue Team get a phone call?

"Get the Capt Freed ASAP"

If so...then KUDOS to whoever made the rescue Plan and those risking their lives to carry out the mission...

The Capt is a HERO

The Rescue TEAM are HEROs

and the Planners are Heros too

4. Word is that one of the pirates was invited to negotiate
and he left the life boat, then the Navy seals moved in, Phillips jumped overboard, three pirates were killed and that is that.

5. Just what the doctor ordered...get the Capt away from lifeboat...shoot boat to contain pirates
and VOILA.....

The Navy ship was wise to stay close to give op for Capt to make 2nd leap out of boat...that was the opening

Glad to see heads up on the 2nd try

3. Was about to start a similar thread
Captain Phillips is free and the right wing takes some more licks - celebrate.

Now the loonies want Jefferson's Barbary wars.

6. A win for Obama
Let's see if the media actually gives him credit.

8. I won't hold my breath. Even though they were ramping up the "Obama failed" rhetoric ...
... there's absolutely NOTHING 'fair-minded' about the tabloidized media.
