US (GOP) Rep. Candice Miller's Daughter Sentenced To Year Probation In Impaired Driving Case
April 7, 2009

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. (AP) — The daughter of a congresswoman from Michigan has been sentenced to probation for driving while visually impaired and assaulting a police officer.

A judge in St. Clair Shores, Mich., on Tuesday sentenced 33-year-old Wendy Carmack to one year of probation and ordered her to pay $800 in fines and costs.

Carmack, the daughter of Rep. Candice Miller, pleaded guilty to the charges in February.

Carmack was arrested Dec. 2 outside Detroit and charged with driving while intoxicated and other counts.

The congresswoman said at the time that her daughter had a problem.

4. Just saying. When our Senator Stabenow's husband was arrested while in company of a prostitute, it
was LBN.

Just a bit of equal time...'that's what'

3. Michigan has a 'driving while visually impaired' provision that allow one to be
charged with DUI even if you pass all the breathalizer/field tests. If the officers 'thinks' you are impaired do to your actions...you go to jail.

7. "while visually impaired and assaulting a police officer."
from the OP. I've checked it a couple of times to make sure I wasn't reading it incorrectly. Visibly makes more sense but visually is what it says:shrug: While visually impaired she apparently took a swing or something at the cop. So driving while visually impaired is a big no no, assaulting a cop while visually impaired isn't too smart either. Did she drink so much she blurred her vision?

8. Despite the OP, it's "visibly" impaired.
Check the link in the article - it's visibly impaired in the linked story. (Either they had it wrong and edited it, or the OP may have typed it instead of copying/pasting from the link.)

9. Ahhh.... well visually impaired made the story interesting
visibly impaired not so much. Thanks for clearing things up. Now we can all see straight :P Have a good one, stay safe and don't drink until you are visually impaired and get behind the wheel. ;-)

10. Another Person Who Has Issues...
This isn't a partisan issue or reflects on any politician, but on our society in general. This isn't a child, but a 33-year old woman who apparently has problems that afflict millions of American families. Here's hoping she gets assistance with whatever it is that led her to such reckless behavior. Thank goodness she or anyone else wasn't hurt.
