14. Whether you end up liking it or not, it'll have you talking about it.
Trivia factoid: The movie is based on a comic book series written by Alan Moore (who also did The Watchmen, one of the first graphic novels to receive critical acclaim), during the Reagan/G.H.W. Bush/Margaret Thatcher era. It's scary how relevant it is today (and how many of those same cold warriors are back in power, at least behind the scenes). Very little had to be changed to make it seem current.

4. It is a good movie
But the comic book is better, deeper, richer, and less simplistic.

15. It's a Guy Fawkes mask
Edited on Thu Mar-29-07 10:29 PM by George Oilwellian
Guy Fawkes (13 April 1570 – 31 January 1606), also known as Guido Fawkes was an English military man and member of a group of Roman Catholics who attempted to carry out the Gunpowder Plot on November 5, 1605.

"The Gunpowder Plot" was a plan to assassinate the Protestant King James I (James VI of Scotland) and the members of both houses of the Parliament of England, by blowing up Westminster Palace during the formal opening session of the 1605 Parliament, in which the king addressed a joint assembly of both the House of Lords and the House of Commons. Fawkes was in large part responsible for the later stages of the plan's execution. His activities were detected before the plan's completion, and following a severe interrogation involving the use of torture and a trial in Westminster Hall before Judge John Popham, he and his co-conspirators were executed for treason. Fawkes's failure (or the attempt) is remembered by Guy Fawkes Night (also known as Bonfire Night or Fireworks Night) on November 5.

"V" for Vendetta is one of my all time favorite movies now. In fact, my new grandson is a 5th, and he's our 5th grandchild. I'll give you 3 guesses as to what I nickname him. :D :hi:
