GRENOBLE, France – Angry French workers facing layoffs at a Caterpillar factory held four of their bosses Tuesday at the U.S. manufacturer's plant in the Alps to protest job cuts, a regional official and police said.

It is the third time in the past few weeks that French workers have seized their bosses to protest job losses stemming from the global economic crisis.

Last week, workers at a 3M plant south of Paris held the company boss for two days, and earlier this month workers at a Sony plant held a similar protest.

2. The French are amazing!...As MM said "In France, the people
arent' afraid of their government, the government is afraid of its citizens"!

..A saner and sounder state of affairs!

3. Holding people hostage is not funny, ever.

Or something to aspire to. If they were fed camembert that wasn't too advanced, and fresh loaves burning out of the oven, mistress visitation rights, I suppose you could make an argument for it, but otherwise, ummm. no. The bosses in France are already a long way from ours, so to do this, IMHO, goes too far the other way. The French are far away from the Louis's.

5. I've been out of work for a year. Do I want to take people hostage?

No. Do you? Drama shit never works. It just makes workers look stupid.

6. Ba-aa-aa-aa-aa-a!
Still don't get it, do you?

We used to be just like this, before TV. Before the internet and all of the other wonderful diversions of modern living in the US.

7. I think we're a long ways away from those who put themselves in the front lines...
to fight for unions, and equal pay. What, putting on a ski mask and holding people hostage is somehow honorable? Or means anything. If you think so, then good luck to you. Terrorism has no balls. And I mean that as a woman.
