Kyle Sampson, Gonzo's pale and sweaty former #1 staffer and cut man, testified at the Senate Judiciary hearing on the firing of the 8 US attorneys. His memory seened almost as poor as Reagan's during Iran-Contra. I lost count how many times he said "I don't know" during his testimony. Even Republican senators were getting fed up with all the hedging.

Sampson did, however, remember that Torquemada participated in more than one conversation and meeting about the firings, proving he was lying in his March 13th televised statement that he never participated in any discussions about the firings.

Sampson, however, isn't exactly an authority on honesty as was revealed in another late-night Justice Department document dump just last night.

As reported in the New York Times: "On Wednesday, Justice Department officials acknowledged that they provided incorrect information to Congress in a letter on Feb. 23 drafted by Mr. Sampson and approved by the White House counsel. The letter said that 'the department is not aware' of the president’s adviser Karl Rove 'playing any role' in the decision to appoint his former deputy, J. Timothy Griffin, as interim United States attorney in Arkansas. The letter was written weeks after Mr. Sampson wrote in other messages that Mr. Griffin’s appointment was 'important to Harriet, Karl, etc.,' referring to Mr. Rove and Harriet E. Miers, the White House counsel at the time."

Since this group clearly can't keep their lies straight from week to week, it is obvious that Rove and Miers must be under oath and held accountable for their statements to Congress and the American people.

44. Other than the fact that he really hates his medicine and hates me only slightly less, he's doing ok

thanks. I thought the liquid would be easier, but I'm afraid I was mistaken. I wish I could take credit for his name. My sister's friend found Skid and his brother Screech in her basement as kittens, they'd been abandoned my their mother. She named him Skid because when he ran on her kitchen floor he couldn't stop very well and would always wind up sliding. After a few months, my sister took them because her friend already had one cat they weren't supposed to have. I got them and the late great Old Willie (who was the bestcat whoever lived) almost six years ago when my niece developed a serious cat allergy.

You could crush it into a fine powder and mix it into his food. I have to that with Hagi. He gets nippy if I try to force his mouth open. Then i would put him in a room by himself, so Sam wouldn't steal his moist food with the med.

If she says it's ok, I'll do that and give it to him in some baby food.

into Hagi's moist food after his surgery. It was liquid. I can tell he got it as he was a lot better after he got it. The vet will certainly be able to help!

85. We don't have allergies either, but when we walk on the porch there

are visible footprints! It's just that the pollen count has been so damned high that it's annoying to non allergy sufferers - burns nostrils, throats, etc. There is nothing outside that isn't covered in a yellow film. Last year is the first year that it bothered Nosy. He had a couple of shots and pills (stupid way to give meds to a cat, IMHO) and he's not as bad as last year, but he is beginning to wheeze.

With the FDA now confirming that consumers suspect dry pet food may have sickened or killed their companion animals, PETA will hold an emergency news conference on Friday and call on the FDA to immediately expand the pet food recall to include all dry varieties subject to complaints until they are chemically tested for safety. PETA will also ask the FDA to investigate Iams in order to find out if the company knew about the contaminated food before calling for a recall. Pennsylvania resident Yvette Faulkner - whose cat Sassafras suffered kidney failure and had to be euthanized and who states that Sassafras ate only Iams' dry food - will speak at the news conference.

I have not been around for a couple of weeks. Has Mike adressed this: the THOUSANDS of Iraqis who HELPED Americans who are now requesting refugee status here in America and are not getting it yet? I learned about it while watching a senate hearing on this topic on C-Span last Friday. There are at least 7000 interpreters who are documented as having worked for the American military. They are considered to be traitors to Iraq by the "insurgents" and face certain death if they can not get out of Iraq. Their families face the same fate as well. Ellen Saurbrey, Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Imigration was grilled on this very topic. She admitted her agency was perhaps going to UP the amount of refugees allowed in from Iraq to 700 PER YEAR!!!! Meanwhile America took in tens of thousands of Refugees from other nations last year. WHY IS BUSH TURNING HIS BACK ON THE VERY IRAQI CITIZENS HE CLAIMS HE WANTS TO TO LIBERATE?????

It is 3+ hours long and for me it is a CLEAR smoking gun that proves bush has turned his back on the very people who helped us over in Iraq.
