Piece of shit Rush Limbaugh encouraging listeners to screw the Earth Hour project
Just heard him on his garbage show telling listeners to turn on every light in the house and go out for a drive on Saturday evening. Is this fucking guy for real? You may ask why I listen to his "show". Well, it's because I interested to see just how far a person can sink in to complete irrelevance, and still pretend like they are important. It's an interesting experiment in psychology to examine the depths of ones delusion. It takes a strong stomach...

3. Trouble is, it allows the backwash to crow "20 million listeners"
When 10 million of those are probably masochistic DUers.

12. "20 Million Listeners" is a lie
Please dispute this figure when you see it used. The figure comes from the number of listeners per WEEK and is from 2003 at his peak. His current numbers are around 14 million per WEEK.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-listened-to_radio_programs#Current_top_programs_in_the_United_States

Limbaugh is on daily and his listeners tune in everyday. Divide 20 or 14 million per week by 5 days for his actual number of listeners. He only has 3-4 million listeners.

29. That's 14.75 million people out of a population of about
three hundred million...5% is even less popular than Dick Cheney.

33. Thanks for the graphic Tahiti but it still distorts the number of listeners
It gives the number of listeners per WEEK for DAILY radio shows. Divide all those figures by 5 for the actual number of listeners.

This is a project that could really provide some solid scientific data regarding energy use. I could open people eye's. Not surprising a complete douche-nozzle like Limbaugh wants to undermine it.

and will probably do a post tomorrow reminding everyone about Saturday night.

The City of Toronto, and surrounding area, get into Earth Hour in a pretty big way. :hi:

17. Come on, Earth Hour is a bit ridiculous
Maybe if it was an every day of the week thing, all year, when people were at home, or at work, then there might be something to it. Instead, it's one random day. That day just happens to be a Saturday. Just as spring is starting in the US. At 8pm. It would be difficult to find a less effective day and time. It's probably even too stupid to protest it, because of its ineffectiveness.

32. Yep. Plus two of the NCAA Final 8 games will be going on. ;)
Not to mention the fact that it's good very few people will actually go along with this charade. I'm just glad that's the case so they don't end up crashing the electrical grid when everybody powers back up. ;)

18. He's urging all his listeners to waste money
At a time when many of them are out of work, in danger of losing their health care and homes, and not knowing where their next buck is coming from.

And a lot of them are gonna do it.

Infuckingcredible.

24. How does mindless, wasteful consumption help anyone?
I just costs the idiots who play along a few more dollars that they will have nothing to show for.

I guess it does help one group - The Saudi's and the rest of OPEC get to collect some extra coins.

They like to talk the talk, but when it comes down to something that costs them personally, they are no-shows.
Lots will claim they did though, just to show how patriotic they are. :patriot:
