Former State Senator Miller Arrested By TBI On Overbilling Charges
posted March 25, 2009

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday arrested the former Bradley County delinquent tax attorney and his secretary after they were indicted by the Bradley County Grand Jury this morning. Miller is also a former state senator.

Attorney Jeff Miller, 46, was indicted on one count of official misconduct, one count of conspiracy to commit official misconduct and one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated perjury.

April Miles, 28, was charged with one count of aggravated perjury, one count of conspiracy to commit official misconduct and one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated perjury.

The TBI opened the investigation at the request of the district attorney general on Jan. 25 after there were allegations that Miller was overbilling the county while he served in the appointed position of delinquent tax attorney for Bradley County. When Miller was removed from office, he was ordered to turn over title search records. He did not have the records that showed he performed the required title searches even though he received payment for these searches.

Homophobe Jeff Miller Solicits Work from Gays

Would you hire this man?

Our old foe and crusader against gay rights, former State Senator Jeff Miller is back in the news. This time the former laughingstock of the Tennessee Legislature stands accused of soliciting lobbyist work from the gay rights organization, the Tennessee Equality Project.

Oh, how the homophobe has fallen.

The Tennessean: "Project president Chris Sanders said Miller's solicitation was 'certainly not one that we're going to follow up on.'"

"'I suppose he thinks helping pass discriminatory bills would make him an effective advocate for the gay, lesbian and transgender community,' Sanders said Monday."

"Miller did not return telephone messages today from The Associated Press seeking comment."

The last time Miller made the national news was when his wife accused him of committing adultery while he was simultaneously preaching about the holy sanctity of matrimony. The story was picked up by the Associated Press (Advocate, Washington Post, etc.!), DU awarded Miller a place on the famed Top Ten Conservative Idiots list, and bloggers such as Jesus General spread Miller's fame to France and beyond.

2. I remember when all that was going on, too...
I remember when the Tennessee Waltz sting happened, as well as when he was caught cheating on his wife.... Jeff Miller was my worker's comp attorney at the time, while he was serving as Senator...

:hi:
