K&R on Day 62 , Give President Obama the Support

He needs to reverse the most damaging era in American history.

This is Day 62 Folks

After Eight long years of the ruinous Neo-Con disaster known as the Bush Administration
and Twelve Years of a Sick Degraded and Corrupt Congress, Both the Senate and The House of Representatives, America has turned to us, Democrats and Progressives in an historic election
as the first black man to be elected POTUS and said, here it is, Fix It.

Yes, We all have a right to our opinions, We all want things such as Health Care, An end to Bush’s Wars and Economic Stability among many other things that need attention after Republicans have had their way.

No, It is not unpatriotic to hold the Obama Administrations feet to the fire, God knows the opposition is in full propaganda mode and the K-Street Lobbyist are hard at work going about the business of Big Business.

But I sense a divisive strain of fatalism and even hopelessness, Even here among fellow members of Democratic Underground. I believe in President Obama, I believe that he is an honorable and descent man who shares much of what we here at Democratic Underground have fought for over the past decade.

Many of us here have spent countless hours working the phones walking neighborhoods and manning the barricades to make our voices heard and to restore the democracy that we all love and honor.
And I believe that the majority of D.U’ers feel the same way.

So now, Sixty Two Day’s after that historic election and all of the hard work sweat and tears we have put into this thing I’m asking fellow D.U’ers to give the President and our Representatives time, Time to heal this Nation and time to make the changes and take the steps that we all know need to be taken, Time, My friends, Time and patience is surely needed at this juncture.

Let us at least give them that. :kick:

1. even honorable and decent men can be wrong on occasion

lets not stifle criticism, brand those that do as traitors, or ask for silence on the issues.

That is not what we are about. Those are the traits of the other side.

2. Holding Obama’s feet to the fire

IS NOT unfair criticism, Concluding after a mere sixty two day’s that his Administration is a failure IS unfair and unjust, Not only to President Obama but to those of us that have worked so hard to reverse the ruinous coarse that Bush had set for us.

3. I have not read anywhere on the board that anyone has declared the administration a failure

I think folks were expecting change. The econ plan resembles junior's plan. The strategy in Afghanistan resembles junior's plan. None of the criminals from the past administration are projected for justice - just ludicrous rewards through book sales and speeches.

So . . . I am at a loss as to what to feel good about. I am NOT saying the admin is a failure. I am just not so optimistic anymore.

But Yes, I understand, We have waited so long and it does seem as though things are progressing
at a snails pace. But I do not in anyway believe that President Obama's plans or intentions resemble
those of the shrub.
