So .... we all cheered when Begich won in a squeeker over Stevens .......
.... and now, before he has even fully moved in, he's left the Democrats and joined with that rat fucker, Bayh, in the PubLite party.

Fuck you, asshole.

1. I'm still glad he beat Stevens and that Palin didn't get the chance
to name a Senator. And I'll refrain from calling him a rat fucker until he actually does something beyond joining up with Bayh.

3. The time has come to split the party
the republicans have infiltrated our party from within--I was ready for a Populist Party myself. Dr. Dean???

6. Dr Dean is no populist, and splitting the party gets us a united GOP.

9. You might wanna look
but the GOP is ALREADY united...and "gangs of 14" or whatever random number they are, have shown that they, too, are obstructionist and divisive in their purpose and mission. Need I remind you of the 14 who allowed some of the most vile jurists on the bench for lifetime appointments all in the name of "compromise" and "bipartisanship"...however, it was nothing more than just a reach around for bush and the Democrats NEVER got a quid pro quo on this because republicans never play by the rules.
If these "conservadems" want to be republicans--then by fucking God let them cross the aisle and when they return home the next term, their asses will be out and the chance of electing REAL Democrats is a possibility.

18. Are we prevailing now? I ask that as a serious question.
Anything we do is dependent upon being able to persuade republicans to join us and now, not only will we have to capitulate to the republicans, we'll have to capitulate to THIS group of splinter conservatives who want to torpedo necessary legislation.

Is that what you define as winning?

20. Are we winning everything? No. Are we moving in a better direction than the last 8 years?
Of course. Politics is the art of compromise. We're not going to get everything we want at once, or maybe ever. But the reality of the situation is that there isn't anyone who could be doing better with the hand he's been dealt than Obama.

22. I agree with that
Obama wasn't my first, second, third or fourth choice.
I think he is doing a great job. However, the LAST thing he needs is another group of whiny ass conservatives trying to weight him down.

4. i think democrats who refuse to embrace the parties principles are not really democrats
they can certainly hijack the agenda by voting in a bloc and barring legislation

5. I met Begich, and he's one of the good guys, on wind power, and playing the protect his moderate
creds. I'm not convinced how obstructionist these folks will be, given that Obama has been very bold in his budget for some states.

7. i think it's more like blackmail....include 'our' ideas or risk 15 nay democratic votes.
they can hold the senate hostage with 15 democratic votes. that is their threat. why else organize?
