7. Seems that's what they're working up to.
Edited on Tue Mar-17-09 10:16 PM by Sebastian Doyle
They're "auditioning" him with these guest hosting spots, just like they did with Rachel a few months back.

I was hoping Sam Seder would get the gig, but he can't seem to get a break from any media company (Not to go off topic, but why the Hell would Air America even consider Montel fucking Williams when they have a much better guy already on their payroll, but horribly under utilized by that company.)

12. Wow - I hadn't heard about Montel! Thanks for the info - I wish they would use them both.
My son has progressive MS and Montel has been a hero of mine and our family for a long time! He has really tried to get medical marijuana legalized for chronic illnesses and for that I have to say he is truly a courageous and sincere fighter for those who have no voice in the matter!

13. I got nothing against the guy
Just seems like they tried this approach before with Jerry Springer (thinking TV success would translate over to radio) and it didn't work well. Aside from that, I don't see why they need to hire someone from outside and continue to give Sam Seder the shaft, when he's been there since day one.

16. I admit I am a radio talk show junkie - I agree that a lot of great "talkers" get the short end!

I used to listen to Jeff Farias and still catch him when I can when Malloy went to went to Nova M - They kicked Jeff to the curb! He is really good! Here is a link if you care to listen sometimes - he is on from 6 to 9 pm est.

18. Yeah, I think Jeff got a raw deal too.
Maybe he, and Malloy, and Peter B. Collins should partner up and start their own network. Randi too, if she's not signed with anyone else yet, or hasn't burned bridges beyond repair with Malloy (which may be possible, since nobody knows the details of that whole Nova M meltdown)

14. I would venture to guess that landing this interview has sealed the deal.
I haven't really listened to him in the past.

But most here seem to appreciate him. As long as he elongating the progressive prime time line up at MSNBC, that's cool with me!

8. I have to disagree. When he starts on some of those subjects he won't let it go.
He repeats, whines, and people think I'm tuned into Rush because of the hyperventilating when it comes to some injustice he has suffered. He has a big 'me' problem.

I give him credit for doing three hours.

I give him credit because people learn something from his guests.

I'm not that impressed. Hope to be.

He was a slow learner in his conversion from being a Republican - he completely misses the heart of an issue at times. He's does well with the DLC.

He's not Air America - never has been, but he is carred by some Air American stations and works with them in area promotions. He was very critical of Air America hosts when AA got started. Sounded resentful. Made claims against them.

Sorry to give an alternate assessment.

10. yep. i remember how he railed against aa--he was absolutely wicked
about it. i thought: what a fucking asshole!

yes, he did have a slow conversion.

i still listen to him--he's the only lib talker on against rush. but i've turned onto music the last couple of months, more and more.

have you heard the great cover version of "careless whisper" by seether? it rocks! (my latest musical discoveries since taking a break from the political radio world.)

check it out: www.seether.com

breaking news coming from his show. Even then, I often turn if off. I've been listening to silence which is a break with a long time habit of being obsessed with the way things were evolving. I was glued to the tv during the 90's with my mouth hanging open watching the bast right wing attempt to take down a President. I was dumb struck. Then I was right back at it with the theft of our Constitution with the vote theft and Supreme Court.

I have to go on gut and what I was raised on, plus the words of experts and those who can provide insight. I've received some from Air America radio and learned that tv IS the enemy, except for the new channels like link and free (which I don't have anymore). So it's the internet that I learn from.

I learned from tv and the radio that I despise the DLC, so there is hurt when I listen to those people. Their actions are becoming as loathsome as the Republicans for me.

So much has become predictable. You know what is coming. But I never guessed that the financiers' crimes would be as blatantly colossal as they are.

Since the crimes of Cheney and his sidekick were also colossal I watch and listen for the start of the unraveling to prove myself and my opinions about how far they went in their attempts to own us. The deregulation that they gave themselves was helped by Dems so it hurts to be taken by criminals and it hurts to be taken by your own.

We've been struggling up a mountain to figure out what is really going on.

Schultz is trying, but how can a person trust GE-MSNBC? I'm glad for Maddow and maybe Schultz, but you have to wonder what the scheme is by GE. Genius corporate and financial thieves took over and they don't change their spots.

Music and silence help. I'll check out your recommendation. Thanks.
