I Met David Brooks Last Friday
He was here in OC as the closing speaker for a community conference held at the Disneyland Grand Californian. I saw him sitting along the wall at the back of the room when I arrived for the lunch session, so I went up and said hello:

"Hello, Mr. Brooks. I enjoy reading your column in the NYT."

"Thank you."

"BTW, I'm a Democrat."

"Oh. Heh-heh."

He's shorter and more trollish in person than he appears on TV.

5. I was 5'4" in 9th grade.
Maybe the ninth-grade deal explains Brooks' view of the world...
