The Party of Lies
The mouth pieces for the republiCon party, like Glen Beck, Hannity, Rush, etc. are favoring bankruptcy for auto makers but not banks. Why? Because bankruptcy for auto makers will help the wealthy execs and harm the blue collar employees. But for banks bankruptcy would hurt only the wealthy execs. The republiCon party is all for the wealthy.

The republiCon talking point for justifying reducing the pay for the auto maker workers is that they supposedly get paid $70 per hour. This is a republiCon lie aimed at harming the workers. No worker gets paid $70 per hour. What the automakers are actually saying is that it costs them $70 for every hour of labor. The workers don’t get it all. The automakers are including the money they are paying to retirees in the $70. Now this money that they are paying retirees is money the retirees already earned. Also, I believe that money spent by the automakers on training is also included in the $70.

If anyone has an actual breakdown of what all is included in the $70, I would love to see it.

In any case the republiCon talking point is to lie and state that current workers (as compared to no-load execs) are paid $70 per hour.

Today the republiCon party is made up of the wealthy and the gullible.

1. Good post my friend
to listen to beck, he just loves american auto workers; thinks they are well trained and do a great job but the fact that american automakers are in trouble is all the workers fault. Anything over about 4 bucks an hours is just way too much for only blue collar workers. The philosophy of a worthless cowardly alcoholic who never has done anything positive for our country.

2. $70 an hour is BS
even if you take into account their benefits. I don't have time to find the link right now, but a few months ago that $70 myth was debunked.

And even if it were $70 an hour, why do those idiot blowhards have a problem with the auto worker's wages? The Fox News commentators make millions a year sitting on their butts spouting off their political opinion, and yet they have a problem with hard working men and women making $70 an hour. It's sickening.

Their excuse is that the automakers are losing money so the worker's should gladly have their pay reduced. But last time I checked Hannity and his ilk's employer, News Corp, was losing money, too, but I don't see them rushing to volunteer for a pay reduction.

4. $70x40hrsx50 weeks = $140,000 per annum.
What these liars hope is you can't do quick math. Just multiply hourly wages by 2,000 and you get an approximate annual salary.

5. Debunking the $70 per hour myth.
According to Johnathan Cohn

Here is how the $70 per hour breaks down:
$28 actual wages approx
$10 approx benefits bring it up to about $38 per hour
$32 per hour is money that the current employees DO NOT GET. It is money that is being distributed to retirees. Money that the automakers already paid to employees but kept it “safe-keeping” for their for retirement. republiCons want to steal the employees retirement money and give it to the execs.
