Right wing blathering boobs miss the point regarding education

You can tell us hard work pays off (while you keep your cozy wealthy career of whining and bitching into a microphone and play golf as if that's what everyone does for a living).

You can say how EVERYONE people in other countries can pass spelling bees as well (reverse racism; not everyone in other countries knows how to spell either).

But without jobs or anything to put learned skills to use as reward for the education (never mind the old adage "money is an incentive"), what is the point to having them in the first place?

Our country's priorities are truly fucked up when we give sports figures, impolite, tawdry, tacky, computer-assisted "singers", people who whine on their radio shows, and actors grossly higher incomes than people who actually NEED to learn skills for the pittance-paying jobs of $10/hr that someone thinks is a generous wage. (If the cost of living was comparable to that of 1972, then $10/hr would be a godsend to everybody.)

The more I read or listen to pundits whining about the problems with education, the more I look at other factors and other perspectives.

If the USA is dead, why are so many people continuing to prop up American banks and other symptoms, while ignoring the CORE problems? People losing jobs or being underpaid seem to account for more of what's going on. The banks are not the key stones to the dam holding everything together. They're just another brick that will ultimately topple.

In 1980, average CEO pay was roughly 40x that of the average worker. Today it is 400x and more. Then adding the driving down of wages on top of wages that, adjusted for inflation and other factors, by and large haven't been keeping up anyway.

Want to talk real problems? Fine. I know for a fact schools are a problem (My grades were bad in grade school because of being harassed, bullied, beaten, molested, and assaulted. Once in college, away from the living HELL, I turned out much better grades and I consider myself fucking damn lucky I've made it this far and successful in life. So please don't suggest schools and teachers aren't a problem. There are plenty of causes for blame; the whole damn SYSTEM is breaking, if it isn't broken already.)

What needs to be done to repair the system?

Thank you for reading and I am sorry for my vitriol. The juxtapositions and double-standards I have observed in this country are merely beyond mind-boggling at times.

You can also guess who I listened to this morning. Just when he comes across as being able to think, the next day he starts reminding us what a brainless little parrot he is. (Sorry to all parrots everywhere - I know you're vastly more intelligent...)

1. I don't think education...

can be fixed as a single issue, or with a single solution. Health care affects children and families, which affects education. Jobs affect parents, and parenting which affects education. Taxes, communities affect education. Neglect and abuse affects a childs ability to concentrate and learn, which effects their standardized test grades, and affects their teachers pass/fail grade. Schools that aren't properly funded, do not give the teachers the tools they need to teach, nor the children the tools they need to learn. Seems to me a whole lot of things need to be fixed before any meaningful assessment of teachers can be made.
