1. Minimize the transactions
That does suck, but you can minimize the transactions, and thus the fees, by taking out the entire balance all at once. (Right? I have fortunately never needed unemployment yet, so I might be wrong on how these cards work.) Then, spend cold hard cash wherever you go. Screw the credit industry... that's how we are in this mess now!

3. That's what I do. You get 1 ATM transaction free for each direct deposit. (in Oklahoma, anyway)

So I get the maximum amount I can out of the ATM the day the funds hit, and use the cash instead of debit-carding.

2. You can also elect to receive the money
by the tried and true method of check, which gives you absolute control of the unemployment money.

4. in Texas you get 2 free cash withdrawals per deposit period, which is 4 per month
normal debit card usages are free and a quick phone call will confirm your balance.

5. Who really should get "bailed" out
The banks & wall street who worked hand in hand to create the global crisis with predatory lending practices....now the banks are feeding off those who lost their jobs due to the mess they are to take blame in.

Keep it classy!
