Sarah Palin, have broken off their engagement, he said Wednesday, about 2 1/2 months after the couple had a baby. Johnston, 19, told The Associated Press that he and 18-year-old Bristol Palin mutually decided "a while ago" to end their relationship. He declined to elaborate as he stood outside his family's home in Wasilla, about 40 miles north of Anchorage.

He also said some details of the breakup, rumors of which had been swirling on the Internet, were inaccurate.

I don't see anything that screams a 300K photo shoot, but maybe I'm missing the right article... I don't know. I still feel sorry for all her kids - even the ones who have made life-changing difficulties for themselves (if, in fact, that's the case).

There are so few pictures of this little baby... huh. Guess he is thankfully spared having to be a prop...

Were it not for the oddities AND the secrecy AND the weirdness with the mother of this young woman, I wouldn't be so skeptical. But things don't add up and have never added up and I still feel sorry for her kids - misguided as some of them may be.

Actually, I'm not really sure if that's a fair thing to say. One of the most common reasons kids act out and engage in risky behaviour (which depending on their age, can result in pregnancy, among other things) is because they're crying out for what they NEED and aren't getting (time, nurturing, acknowledgment, etc.). I certainly don't know if that's an element in all of this, but it does seem to fit.

I made the mistake of going to Salon.com that had the Bristol interview with Greta Van Something-Or-Other. The poor girl went from looking at her mother like she was some sort of alien bug to what seemed like abject fear - with a little confusion mixed in, maybe. Very awkward and unhappy. Then again, these ideas may be no more than my active imagination...

Oh I have to stop... I actually forgot about this strange, immature woman for a while. I need to go back to that. It's just when kids are involved... I feel too much I guess.
