fears, without being judged?

It could be fear about survival.

It could be fear about money. Caring for our children and loved ones?

It could be fear about our health or the health of a family member, or just how strong we could be facing the death of a loved one.

Or whatever situation we are facing. The main point of the forum would be, we could talk about this without being afraid someone would jump on us for "being weak" or something like that. We could share tips and personal experiences.

Just a thought.

I admit it's kind of an odd idea. But maybe it would lubricate conversation about more complioated issues. Some of this stuff is not all that easy to discuss.

But I fully confess this might be one of my stupidest ideas ever, and I acknowledge that. And it wouldn't surprise me. I'm the King of dumb ideas.

2. One positive is that we would learn a lot about what is happening to people around the country
and we might be able to get some ideas about where to go from here.

I have the feeling that things won't improve significantly until we do what you are suggesting.

5. I think that requires honesty...
and some self-awareness. Might be a good teaching tool.

...deep concern or fear about the economy--and then some braintrust chimes in and says, "Oh geez, the sky is falling."

Just LOVE that.

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

8. You get my vote, and it is not a stupid idea at all
as an EMS commander we did that regularly

We used to call them (translation ok) bitching sessions, and were especially useful after an MCI where my kids could go over feelings including fear and anger, useful for them to avoid some things, or diminish it, like PTSD

And I will be the last one to tell people that they are weak for being afraid

Hugs mike... sorry if for whatever reason you got that impression

Tools can be worked as well

11. Sounds like a good idea.
Making it easier to avoid all these FEARFEARFEARFEAR posts would be a change I could believe in. <semi-snark>
