Why doesn't the economy = War? Why don't Republicans = Traitors?
The faltering economy is a threat to our national security and to the American way of life -- perhaps more serious than any threat from AlQaeda or any foreign country.

President Obama is trying to fix the economy -- and the GOP is obstructing him at every turn, hoping that he fails and that the country is mortally wounded.

If they did this in time of a military action, they would be considered and treated as traitors. How is this any different?

2. Because we (and they) are free to support or oppose any economic policy they wish.
I think the repubs are voting themselves into obscurity, but they are free to do that. I'm not sure that President Obama is unhappy that they are doing that. He is pursuing sound policy and giving the repubs enough rope to hang themselves.

3. Are they free to give aid and comfort to the enemy during war?
This is pretty much the same thing.

4. No, but we are free to demonstrate and vote against war and
to promote different foreign policies other than war. We do not have to blindly support a war just because a president says it's a good thing. Repubs don't have to support President Obama's economic policies either, but I think he is playing them for fools.
