| CNN Calls Out Republican Leadership For Their Hypocricy In Earmarks |
|
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 09:52 AM by KittyWampus
Mitchell, Kyle and Ensign.
Dana Bash had me pleasantly surprised doing a segment showing these flaming gasbags. They complain about earmarks but have inserted millions of dollars into the Spending Bill.
Republicans are responsible for 40% of the earmarks.
Heard this while working out yesterday at the Y around 4:30pm. Was pleasantly surprised to hear Dana be so truthful.

| 2. Earnarks Are Another GOOP Diversion |
|
And dare it be said, earmarks can and do create jobs. They can help build a new road or programs that benefit athe community on the whole. It's also what voters expect from their representatives.
Does Gramps exect each spending request to be put in bill form, went to both houses for debate and then voted on? Our dysfunctional government is lucky to pass out a budget, yet be able to scrutinize every dime spent. And its hypocritical for so many reasons. Yep, Gramps decries a few million for a new "projector" for a planetarium, yet he didn't say boo about the billions that went into the rathole of outsourcing and defense contracting. You won't hear him call into account the billions funneled to Blackwater or KBR or any of the other GOOP pet corporate welfare clients...cause, well those aren't "earmarks".
Also, a lot of this griping is outright sour grapes. While the GOOP was in power, not only didn't we hear anything about earmarks, they used them in some very "creative ways"...just look up Don Young's Cocoanut Road antics. When the Democrats took power, then holy hell was raised...cause the rushpublicans knew that they could no longer funnel billions to their benefactors and if they couldn't, Democrats couldn't either.
Hypocrites...

earlier this week over his earmarks. I wish the media would continue to expose the hypocrites.
