Their starting and/or entry level pay is $4 an hour higher than for the senior management positions in the same trade by locally or corporately owned US businesses where I've recently applied.

I'm on their short list and scheduled for a second interview. I was just as surprised as they were when we discussed my salary requirements. Their response was, "We don't start anybody that low, how did you come up with that figure?" I had to explain that even with my 14 years of experience our local employers think the $4 less an hour they pay is still too high.
