DU, thank you for all your kind thoughts and sympathy for me and my wife today

It is oh so very appreciated, and very therapeutic. Thank you all a million times.

I put an update on the thread from this morning which is now in the lounge.

1. I just went and read and I'm so very sorry.
These little "critters" just steal our hearts, and break them when we have to let them go. But I believe, at least for me it's a small price to pay for all they give us. It's so touching that you put her favorite things with her.

4. I'm so sorry, I've been through the same thing
and I held the kitty while she purred herself to sleep. She's now resting underneath a flowering shrub at a house I no longer live in.

They love us so unconditionally that it's hard to let them go when it's time.

5. Blackie and her friends were very fortunate to hook up with humans like you two
You are in my thoughts and prayers. That's one of the worst experiences I've ever had to go through.

6. Sympathies....
When my wife died, my little Doxie, Porsche, quit eating. She didn't eat anything for 3 months. I had to resort to placing a high calorie gel in the back of her mouth to get anything down her. She weighed maybe 15 pounds and after the 3 months she was maybe 5 or 6 pounds. One day I took her to the vet and left her to be treated. The vet called me at noon and said she had gone into renal failure.

I went and when she saw me, she perked up and ran to me. I held her while they injected her. She died immediately and her head hit the table, she dropped so fast. I loved on her and kissed her goodbye. She was cremated and will be buried in my casket by my left side as that was where she always slept.I feel so bad for you.

Love em while you can. They love you unconditionally.

God Bless.

7. Blackie was a special cat to you.
I love black cats! My deepest sympathies. I know what it feels like to lose a beloved pet. Grief is deep.

8. I've been there twice. That horrible drive to the vet...
where I'm crying and Tig and Tapau both just looked at me the whole way like "It's for the best Dad". Rescue another is all I can add. My sincerest condolences.

10. I first saw your post at work and couldn't reply then.
But my heart aches for you and still does. I know what it is to lose a cat. You did so well by yours. It was a horrible decision to have to make and it will grieve you, but it was the right one.
