In a scathing rebuke to Rush Limbaugh, CBS' David Letterman excoriated the conservative talk show host while talking to CBS anchor Katie Couric on the network's 'Late Show' Monday night.

"What about this bonehead Rush Limbaugh? Honest to God, I mean, what is going on there?" Letterman said.

"Dave, don't do this to me, please," Couric interjected. "Don't do this to me."

17. I loved it back when Letterman put Limbaugh his show on about 7 years ago

and was totally polite and gracious to him and handed him the rope Limbaugh needed to hang himself with on a silver platter.

Not to mix metaphors but Dave watched politely as Limbaugh climbed out further and further onto a limb with the audience and then at the end at the last possible moment slammed him with a one liner zinger that just brought the audience's ridicule down on Limbaugh like a ton of lead. It was brilliant. Dave is a master of comedic timing and knows just exactly when to take the shot.

Most Democrats don't want a Socialist society - what we want is a blend of helpful social ideas for social programs, but the markets can still have capitalism, as long as its regulated.

Rush is rarely correct, fwiw. He may be right - as in on the right - but his ideas are stale and bankrupt. They don't work for anyone's benefit but the elite he alleges to despise.
