I'm disappointed Dean wasn't offered a spot in Obama's administration

2. dean is too outspoken to be with all those bureaucrats.... and he
would never agree to let bushco off the hook for its crimes like the current administration seems interested in doing.

3. Rahm got his way and it cost us a future senate seat from Kansas
Dean was the best choice for HHS. He was not holding an elected office that Dems would lose to Repukes.

But maybe Dean being on the outside can help us pressure Obama-Rahm on making non-corporate healthcare proposals available.

4. The article talked about him returning to DFA. So, this allows for a greater
Dean influence than if he were tied up being secretary.

5. As much as I thought I wanted Howad to head HHS, I'm now thinking itmight not have been
such a great idea. Howard is disliked by ALL the Washington politicians...probably because he's too honest! It's possible if he would have headed the HC proposal, HE would have become the target instead of the proposal. Not a good thing! He just MIGHT be able to do more to promote this new plan from outside than he would have inside.

I know we haven't heard the last from, and THAT is the best news!

6. Well if Patrick Leahy or Bernie Sanders were to retire, he would be a shoe-in
I like both of those guys though... I know Sanders has had health problems recently.
