7. I sure do miss living in New England

My wife could not handle all the snow we got living in the western hills of CT so we had to move.

Down here in Cornelius NC we are expecting 4-6 inches tonight

They divide the seasons by the start of the month. Not the equinox or solstice. So, March, April & May are considered true Spring to those fine scholars.

11. I was working backstage

on an another amateur production of that. A tree branch flown for the park scene got stuck on a lighting bar and I held the rope while a friend it freed. Unfortunately the branch was heavier than me...lol I did however have the presence of mind to hang onto the rope while my friend hung onto my feet. :rofl:

23. There were other events too

The offending tree branch which got stuck was real wood - cut from an apple tree in the stage manager's garden. It was strung with nylon fishing line which when pulled gently allowed confetti to fall as blossom in the park. That smae day it was tugged and the confetti hit Julie on the head in one lump. Aside from that when Billy was with the Heavenly Keeper the S.M. overdid the stage fog and made both of them disappear completely in a cloud of fog. Needless to say the audience were highly amused but as all of these events occured on the Saturday afternoon matinee performance the cast were not so being convinced we had maliciously stitched them up.....lol.

28. This was an amateur production

- amateur only in as much the cast don't get paid. It was the local Gilbert & Sullivan Society who've been contracted to do a G & S production each January since the 1950's at the Palace Theatre in Watford, here in the UK. Their non
G & S summer productions, in those days , were at at Abbey Theatre in St Albans. My son was Harlequin Boy in the Carousel production I mentioned. He was 20 then and his stature allowed him to effortlessly flip a trained ballet dancer straight onto his shoulder and leg it around the stage...lol.

There are 3 such local societies and for most of the ninities I was part of a crew which worked all of their shows for them.

25. lol dipsy! New DU ID!!! London is milder than NY . I live about 50 miles due north of NYC and we

do get snow. It's been relatively good the last several years with only a couple of big snowfalls a season. (I don't count 2-4" anything much of all). The city tends to get less snow than we do here but the storm coming in tonight seems to be predicted to have about the same amount of snow fall for the whole area. It should be fun and it's always gorgeous right after a big snow fall.

BTW! I watch so much tv from the UK and watch so many movies from there too, that I actually know what how's tricks means!

22. Well, the official start of spring

is still three weeks away. But here in Santa Fe we've had a very mild winter, and it's been getting up into the 60's lately. Lots of sunshine. No significant snow this winter (watch a blizzard come roaring through next week and make a liar of me) and only a couple of dustings of the white stuff since Christmas.
