Complains about a lack of freedom and an assault on the Constitution while defending the Patriot Act and being an advocate for policies in which the government tells women and gays what to do with their own lives.

11. I watched 10 minutes of that thoroughly repellent human being

when he had his mercifully brief TV show. 10 minutes was enough to see his whole shtik, playing to all white, mostly male victims and using schoolyard bullying as a substitute for political discourse.

I'm too analytical to have taken any of it seriously but a lot of people out there who aren't doing well and haven't done well for decades find it very seductive to be given targets to hate.

As more and more news about who the villains really were comes out--and it's going to be impossible to keep much of it a secret as jobs dry up and banks fail--his tactic of distracting the masses will become less and less effective.

This too shall pass, as anybody who's been constipated can tell you. Eventually it all comes out and you can flush the mess.
