Contessa Brewer is carrying water for the right wing and upper 2% of income earners.
Contessa Brewer had two CPAC attendees on and garnered their praise by saying words to the effect that: "Here I am a small business owner making just above $250,000, living in Manhattan in a one bedroom apartment. I don't even have a car! YOU ARE going to MAKE ME pay for all those people who were deadbeats?!?"

Feel free to email Contessa with me to inform her: Only 5 percent of small business owners make a 250,000 profit/year.

NOBODY clarified the small numbers of "small business owners" represented who, I believe, could be "worked with" so as not to *burden* them.

1. From what I Hear
Not having a car in Manhattan is no big deal, considering the lack of places to park. Just think she's saving money by not having to pay for insurance, maintenance, and parking fees.

As for a one bedroom apartment, how many bedrooms does she need and how big is the apartment?

3. Another CONservative claiming to be *right* at the $250K mark...who does that sound like?
Sammy Joe the non-plumber!

How convenient that contessa found someone making just over $250,000 to come on teevee and whine. :eyes:

:nopity:

Daytime msnbc (GE-TV) SUCKS.

8. Contessa was "role playing" and made the persona up out of whole cloth.
She should join that guy that was whining on the Chicago Trading Floor ... they could have themselves one hell of a "pity party." The last statement she made before signing off to Nora O'Donnell was that "I like to play Devil's Advocate." Yeah sure ya do. :eyes:

9. It's a really stupid argument even if they had tons of people right at that mark.
What that says then is that those unfortunate souls making only slightly more than a quarter million dollars a year will only have to worry about an additional 30 cents or so per day in taxes. Somehow I think that they'll survive. Thinking has never been the strong point of these assholes.

5. I wish someone would point out to these douche-bags that....
......being "at" or "just above" $250k is going to mean "next to nothing" in actual tax increase.

It's not as if the increase is retroactive to the earnings UNDER 250k.

Let's do some math.

If I recall correctly, the top marginal bracket is going up 4% over 250k.

So someone earning 300k will pay an extra $2000 dollars? Is that what all the fuss is about?

10. But someone making 'just' above 250k isn't making 300k.
260k seems more like it. In that scenario, taxes would only increase by $400. So yes, that's what all the fuss is about. Even with their completely made up scenarios, only idiots like those listed in the OP are able to muster up their faux outrage for this tax plan. These idiots are beyond stupid.

12. Agreed..
I should have been more clear and said "even someone earning 300k"

But you put a finer point on it... a couple hundred bucks. That's it.

6. Okay, "just above $250,000"
What's "just above"? $5,000? The Contessa would pay an additional $150 in taxes. Quelle horreur!

7. What a stupid frigging argument.
Not surprising she's unable to put even a somewhat complex thought in her head, but the black and white thinking of these idiots is embarrassing. She's acting as if it's solely these people making $250k+ that are funding this. That as soon as you reach that $250k mark, you go from ponying up nothing for this bailout to putting forth everything. The truth is if she's BARELY making over the $250k mark (Good heavens! How could anyone survive on such a pittance?!?), then she's BARELY going to pay any more now than she was before. If that additional hundred dollars that she's paying in taxes now makes the difference between being able to afford a car or not, or being able to afford food or not, then she's so shitty with money that she doesn't deserve any.

11. Why is she so taken with Michelle's sleeveless dresses?
I am so sick of hearing about it. It is her choice and she likes sleeveless, simple as that!

13. We are talking about Taxable Income here......
That means that those foolish enough to file as a sole proprietor still are allowed to reduce their business income further based on deductions and exemptions before getting to the $250,000 taxable income that is being referred to.

So it boils down to about 2% of small businesses, and they are the ones saving money by not getting proper advice from a tax professional. A SubChapter S corporation would make much more sense for a more practical approach to maximum tax savings in the case of a small business netting that much!

14. Exactly.
I am a small business owner and if I netted over 250K I would change my LLC over to a Subchapter S corp and change the way my business pays taxes.

Any reasonably informed person would do the same.

Even I know that, and I'm a dummy.
