THIS JUST IN: Alan Keyes is batshit crazy

Alan Keyes (R-Insane)

Former presidential candidate visits Hastings
KHAS-TV

(snip)

Keyes also has some very strong opinions about President Obama. He ran against Obama for U.S Senate in Illinois back in 2004. Keyes doubts Obama is a U.S citizen and said he will ruin the country.

"Obama is a radical communist and I think it is becoming clear. That is what I told people in Illinois and now everybody realizes it is coming true. He is going to destroy this country and we are either going to stop him or the United States of America is going to cease to exist," said Keyes.

8. Look at some of the African-American Republicans - they're just nuttier than a bag of peanuts
Kenneth Blackwell
Alan Keyes
JC Watts
Michael Steele
Lynn Swann

They all run on a platform that has never had the best interest of African-Americans at heart. They are the equivilant of the Log-Cabin Republicans who will sell themselves and who they are in the name of the almighty dollar.

20. I always say that any minority-group member who votes for a right-wing party...
is like a turkey who votes for the Christmas Party.

Not sure that in all cases it's 'selling themselves', however. They may be such ideologues that they will vote against their own interests if it suits their ideology. In the UK, for example, Tories who come from working-class backgrounds tend on average to be to the right of those who come from upper-class backgrounds - because they had to consciously choose Toryism for ideological reasons, while the upper-class Tory may be following family tradition and unexamined self-interest, and not have any particular ideology. (Not that there aren't some very RW upper-class Tories!)

9. I'm glad you posted this. I caught it on MSNBC but couldn't find it to post.
Keyes has crossed the line and is, IMHO, inciting violence. " . . . we are either going to stop him or the United States of America is going to cease to exist." Keyes is begging some gun-happy nutball to save the country. The Secret Service better visit this guy and tell him there is free speech and then there are threats and he needs to STFU.

11. What the heck does he mean by that??
"He is going to destroy this country and we are either going to stop him or the United States of America is going to cease to exist," said Keyes.

Good grief, looney tunes is about it

13. 'Just in'? As far as I can see, he's always been batshit crazy
I do remember him running against Obama, and that he wouldn't congratulate Obama on his victory because Obama was according to him a baby-killer. More seriously, I remember that he was said to have turned out his own daughter for being lesbian.

14. I wish to start raising money now...
So that after Obama's 8 years (he'll be re-elected) are up, I can send false invitations out to republicans - from famous ones like Keyes to working-class schlubs like my college friend I always argue with - to a dinner celebrating the life and achievements of Ronald Reagan. Once inside the ballroom (or stadium if we need the room), the doors will be locked, guards will be posted, and I will have a panel of experts methodically go through various Powerpoint presentations, showing how wrong they all were. The proceedings will be filmed, and a highlight DVD will be sent out to every person in America with full cut copies going out to liberal pundits/government types to show them that just need to mock whatever the conservative counterparts have to say by pointing out how wrong they always are.

The Bill O'Reilly segment will probably last 3 hours, and Sean Hannity will get his own personal guard with orders to tase him if (when) he starts acting up.

19. If Obama is a "radical communist" then these right wingers are indeed
fascists or Nazis, no joke! They water down the English language's terms until they mean only the extremes. If a liberal Democrat = a radical communist, then surely a Republican = a Nazi.
