Eyes on the Prize! Every attack by the GOP on ANY Democratic Senator is an attack on Health Care.

I wish that every person at DU would write this down on a piece of paper or a napkin or the back of their hand and keep it close where they can read it. That way, when you read something in a newspaper owned by a Republican tycoon like Sam Zell (who owns the Chicago Tribune) or you hear something on a TV news station owned by a big corporation or Big Pharm puts out some propaganda that one way or another puts a Democratic Senate seat at risk of switching over to Republican control...

The Republicans have staked everything they have on denying this country universal health care!

They plan to do it in the Senate. In 2010, they will tell the public Those ineffectual Democrats could not even deliver health care reform---just like Bill and Hillary Clinton. . Then they plan to do Newt all over again.

However, they have three weak link Republicans. If Franken gets in, all the Dems have to do is persuade one. That is why they had Fitz attack Blago. He was after Obama's senate seat. They are still after Obama's senate seat. Do not surrender that seat without a fight.

California Dems were chicken shit when they let Gray Davis take the blame for what Enron did to California and elected Arnold---Enron's chosen candidate---to be the governor of California, knowing he would squash the Enron civil suit, protecting Bush and Co. from liability in the price gouging of California. They have paid in their own never ending health care crisis. Do Illinois Dems want to be chicken shit Dems like the Dems of California? How about acting like Texas Dems, who, when they were outnumbered by Tom Delay and his illegal redistricting, at least tried to stop him by becoming the "Killer Bees". It is better to put up a fight than to do the opponents' work for them.

PS Sorry California, but you know that there was no excuse for electing Ken Lay's hand picked Arnold because you were mad about Enron. It was the most insane thing I have ever witnessed. That civil suit against Enron was the only thing that Bush and Co. had to fear and the citizens of California made sure that there was no discovery phase and all the perps walked.

2. If the Dems do not want health care, they will hand Burris seat to the GOP
so that they can then pretend that they can not weather the Republican filibuster of health care reform.

So, I guess we can tell how much they really want health care by how hard they fight now to get as close to that 60 as possible. If it seems like Obama and the Senate Dems are trying to stay away from 60, that will suggest that they do not really want to do any of the things they promise (since it would upset the gravy train).

prevent the Democrats from passing something that they have not even hinted that they are ever going to consider passing, and which their President actually ran against.

That makes a lot of sense. Except for that "all of it" part.
