I've seen several posters with not a single heart and have seen a few folks with more than 20! I'm not donating right now but if I did, I would look for every single poster that didn't have a heart and give one to them.

I have absolutely no idea who gave my little heart to me but I truly thank them for it and don't wish for anymore. I spent Valentine's Day the best way I know how -- with my husband and 2-year old daughter and I got all the love I could ever hope to get. :)

These types of "popularity events" can be very hard on the fragile members here, and I've been on DU long enough to know that there are alot of very sensitive and emotional people on this web site. So I just want to wish a Happy V-Day to every poster here on DU.

Yeah, it brings out the 13 year olds, but it also brings out a lot of compassion, too, I think. I know for a fact that there are donors who look for anyone who doesn't have a heart yet and give hearts to those people whether the donor knows them or not. So it's not all a popularity contest.

Plus, it does net some good income for DU, which I'm all for. This has been my online home for 7 years now.
