It's visceral. I get disgusted hearing anything about the office and expect some drunk monkey to be blathering at us....then I remember that nightmare is over? :)

I really think it's a form of PTSD.

5. I made a big bowl of popcorn and I was very excited to watch him!
It just freaked me out when Obama walked from behind the curtain and walked up to the podium. Sometimes I still can not believe how lucky we are to have him. I am still jolted every time they say, "President Obama"!! I used to have to turn the channel quickly any time Bush came on. His voice would drive me insane. PTSD.....You are so correct!!!

7. It will take awhile to get used to it.
Bush was around for 8 years, our new President only a short time.

It is nice not to turn off the TV or change the channel now.

8. Too true, sadly. I found myself trying to figure out what else I could watch.
Then I realized, "Wait a minute, it's OBAMA, not the fucking chimp -- I can watch it and not get sick!"

So, I'm watching it. :)

20. Same here.
I keep looking up to the TV with a scowl when I hear "the President" said by newscasters. Then Obama will walk by the camera and I go "oh, PHEW! that's right. Assface Bush is gone now!"

29. It's the Pavlovian thing
Our cringe reaction is actually a good thing. It shows we were paying attention and having a reaction suitable to the assault on our senses.

Remembering that those days are over is a relief isn't it?
