A Stimulus Bill IS a Spending Bill!
Why can't the Republicans AND the Media understand that simple fact?

1. Soon as they wrap their tiny minds around the simple fact that tax cuts are a form of spending too.
Which is to say, never.

2. Republicans believe they can stimulate the economy
without spending money. This is what Hoover thought too. It has past performance that isn't spectacular. Why the media doesn't point this out is because they are for the most part either/or lazy, stupid and conservative.

3. So you believe every item in the bill will help stimulate the economy?
I believe something like this is also a way for everyone on both sides to throw in some pork.

4. Even bacon at this point may create some jobs and do some good
... it would still take workers, contractors, designers etc, to build the next bridge to nowhere.

Not saying we shouldn't try to spend wisely. We should. But if a few bacon bits slip into the salad it's better than no salad at all.

5. Yes,
that's the point. Create jobs through the public sector where the private sector cannot due to the economic problems we face. You may not like what the money is spent on, and it might be short term stimulus instead of long, but it will stimulate the economy. Tax cuts, on the other hand will mostly be saved (as the last batch of checks were) and NOT stimulate the Economy)
A Stimulus Bill IS a Spending Bill.

6. Ya think?
I'm so tired of very bad political theater. Maybe every schoolchild in America should send the RNC a penney so they could buy better writers.
