Daschle Exit, Successor Search, Delays Health Agenda
Source: Bloomberg

“This takes the Obama administration off their game, because health reform is all built around Daschle,” Georges C. Benjamin, executive director of the American Public Health Association in Washington, said in a telephone interview yesterday. “It creates some real problems, and they’re going to have to regroup on this.”

“Daschle said you need to move quickly before the opposition gets organized and while you still have the political capital,” Laszewski said, “and it was Daschle himself who derailed that idea.”

1. Better to get a delayed start in the right direction than to race ahead in the wrong direction!

2. The "health agenda" hasn't progressed an inch in 30 years.
Another few weeks won't really make any difference.

Medicare buy-in for all Americans or bust.

3. It was 'built' around Daschle? Wow, Obama & Co. are taking a
lot for granted. Too bad he doesn't make better choices.

6. Republican used IRS to force out Daschule - The republicans worst nightmare Howard Dean
Edited on Wed Feb-04-09 12:31 PM by LaPera
should be appointed in place of Daschule's departure.

Howard Dean would absolutely get Obama agenda for Health Care done correctly Universal Health Care - Single payer care for ALL Americans!

Dean won't be intimidated by the fucking republicans and the usual insurance company lies about health care for all.

8. Dean would have been the perfect pick in the beginning
It makes me wonder if he might have some equally damaging issues that would come screaming forth were he to be nominated. Obama surely is on top of this and would have found a place before now for Dean if it were wise.

11. Perhaps no skeletons,
but Dean has little to no ability to play well with others.

We need someone to lead on this and get the job DONE.

Dean is perfect.

9. If Obama had chosen Jesus Christ
for the job there would still be someone somewhere that would find fault with his choice. We will never find perfection in any candidate. They are human. I am so sick of the MSM I try not to watch anymore. Obama has been president for what? 2 weeks? And the media are already quoting him about "I screwed up." "I made a mistake." Okay, so he screwed up; if you remember George Bush never admitted to making a mistake. If only all of us were as pure as the driven snow as the media are. The media are our enemy.
