7. The problem is that WE have to "write in and call", and THEY get free TV/Radio/Newspaper time/space
It's an UNFAIR playing field... and ever dem who DOES step into the breach, ends up weasling and semi-agreeing with those oh-so-agreeable republicans and their WONDERFUL ideas....the same ideas that PUT our economy in the mess it's in..

9. that's true -- we don"t "own the printing presses"
as they observed a couple hundred years ago...

that, or the ones that were trouble - on the TV side, certainly -- have been "absorbed"

No wonder they hate the internets!

5. Local news is the equivalent of "Inside Edition" anymore...
I stopped watching local news (Houston) in the late 80s, early 90s. Same for reading the local newspapers. I am very happy to have a Pacifica station locally for national and some local news, as well as a great investigative-reporting weekly paper. The wingers hate it because it's so "liberal". Uh, yeah. That's what a true liberal news source looks like, not the MSM.

The only time I willingly watch the local news is during (or after) a hurricane. The rest of the time it's the Internet and the previously-mentioned sources :)

6. The Right Wing Media Cartel..Bring Back Fairness Doctrine
..and restore station Ownership limits.

Clear Channel Radio Inc owns almost every radio station in this country. I would like to see a show of hands for all those that think this arrangement is healthy for the dispersal of information in our supposed Democracy?
