Just do it. Don't put the rest of us through this bs. Any average Joe Shit who works for any company in the whole world and does taxes or has an expense account or has an accountant knows what income in kind or taxable perks is. Or, is this supposed to be a "gift"? If so, even stinkier.

Especially the head of HHS. This position is going to call for a great deal of moral high ground do-the-right-thing type of persuasion and leadership.

Sorry, Tom - hope you enjoyed the free ride while it lasted. It had a greater cost than anticipated.

2. What about the other guy.
Geitner he was a tax cheat.
Yeah change we can believe in.
Obama needs to fire the people who are checking out nominees.
I really do not want a bunch of tax cheats telling me what to do.
End of rant...............

I like him too, but this is ridiculous. I don't want an Obama administration full of lobbyists and tax cheats.

8. What kind of health care reform can we expect from a tax cheat anyway?
They are living in the world of free rides, and are totally disconnected from the reality of life as lived by 95% of us.

10. You are so right!
Why are some smart people so dumb sometimes? Obviously, Geithner was happy to say "so what?" to America, but can't Daschle follow Richardson's lead and go just away? Surely there's another candidate with a cleaner background to fill this cabinet position?

11. I Just Found Out About Daschle - I Agree - He Should Withdraw.....
I was so glad when he left and really disappointed in his reappearance on the scene. I never trusted this guy. He should drop out. President Obama has enough problems with what was dealt to him by BushCo. He doesn't need to be taken down any further by some of his own.

12. Health and Human Services is too controversial and too unpopular
with Republicans. Obama can't afford to have Daschle in that position. Anybody can makes mistakes, but Daschle's position is too important. We need someone with an impeccable history with regard to taxes there. After all, the Secretary of Health and Human services will be spending a lot of money that the Republicans don't want him to spend.

18. Obama would not accept it. Period. Daschle has been his mentor, Newsweek called him Obama's Cheney.
I would like to see Howard Dean or someone like that in charge, but being a realist I know what's going to happen - a little sturm und drang before the Senate approves him just as they did with Clinton, Geithner, and Holder.

The republicans will raise a stink, but not too much. Remember, if anyone were to look real hard at any of their tax returns - and I do mean any of them - it would be a field day for name-the-tax-evader games. So there will be a stink, but it will be more like stepping in shit than having to eat a plate full of it.

27. But.. every little shit-stain leaves a stink
and as they accumulate, sooner or later somebody's gonna have to clean up the cause of the stink...

we need someone in charge of setting up our healthcare system, who BELIEVES in single pay/universal care and who is willing to and able to 86 ALL INSURANCE provisions from the plan..

insurance is the problem..not the solution..
