Remember the saying that if you say a lie enough times sooner or later people will believe it? I honestly believe that's what's infected the bubbleworld of the corporate media. They've been so inundated by these lies and mantras for so long they just assume them to be true and fall into the stereotypes that go with them.

To GOOPers, any government check is welfare when it goes to a Democrat or minority. When they get it...like in SSI or Medicare, it's their due.

10. That bobblehead was out of her league yesterday with Katrina and Dylan discussing in-depth issues on

the economic stimulus - it was embarassing to watch. She'd been spouting repubican talking points all morning, saying she didn't see how anyone could vote for it. Then they started actually intelligently discussing the financial crisis and she said not. one. word. Occasionally, "hmm". She looked blankly into the camera or at the desk.

She is an absolute idiot.

Costas is almost always good in his knowledge of facts, history and fairness with
sports. That segment was really good.

A few points

Earlier this week they said that Joe was on special assignment, that lasted
for two days when they said Joe was off because of the illness of his father.
Why didn't they just say that Monday?

Mika was lauding vodka shots this morning in their discussion of the 'super-bowel'
fun. She had her drinking head-bob going when she was not directly on camera. I think
she was happy Joe the abuser hadn't been on all week and was celebrating TGIF


She wasn't taken seriously all week by the panel all week and was tolerated
and I don't think they respect her that much because of her embarrassing pandering
and lack of knowledge and others just took over the show.

She gets some of her talking points from the producer,Chris Licht, which she
revealed today in a segment accidently. Chris Licht has been a long time producer
with Joe scab since the beginning of his TV career.

19. That is a big Rush/ Rightwing talking point

about calling any benfits to the poor, the unemployed or tax cuts to the poor or middle class "welfare". The word "welfare" has a proven negative connotation to most people like "welfare rolls, welfare queens, ride welfare, the dole, etc."

Charlie Crist set her pretty straight on how Flordia would appreciate all the aid this bill provides for the states and specifically cited the extension of unemployment benefits being an enormous plus and then he gave the unemployment rate in his state.

Mika is a rich asshole who does not even begin to understand any American who might have to rely or depend on unemployment benefits. She really, really angered me this morning. I also hate how smug and secure of her pronouncements she is. She has osmosed Joe Scarborough and not in a good way.

Side note - I also dislike her deciding that Bloggo is not a story because he "bores" her. She bores me and soon no more Morning Joe. The only one on that show I still enjoy is Willie Geist because he is droll.

with his made up stories of "welfare queens driving Cadillacs" to pick up their checks at the expense of the American taxpayer.

Bill Clinton made a huge effort to "end welfare as we know it". The majority of Americans have had the word "welfare" demonized as an unearned, unfair, reward for laziness paid for by the labor of hardworking Americans. To this day, say the word welfare and watch millions of jaws clenching simultaneously. It's just the way it is. Liberals work it too by being against "corporate welfare".

Republicans talking heads are trying to get more milage from this word right now and must have some kind of internal prize to be awarded for how many times they can use work in the word welfare any time they discuss a stimulus or tax cut for the middle class program.
